Pack a full map and a guide book of Everest Base Camp Trek:
While doing this trek you need to know where you are going and where you are.Having a guide book offers important advice for checking altitude symptoms and illnesses.

Prepare For Cold And Rain:
In this place when the sun sets the temperatures decrease quickly.Here the weather can change quickly.Wear a warm dress will give you comfort at night.Don’t forget to carry a raincoat with you.

Eat enough and stay hydrated:
You need to eat the main three meals a day on the trek.Here one can get dal bhat(rice, dal, a vegetable, papad, pickle).Vegetarian options will be great for you.Make sure to drink plenty of water during trekking.You can buy water bottles from many of the tea houses.You can also bring chlorine tablets with you.

Weight Limit of Luggage and carry own food:
Flights from Kathmandu to Lukla have strict weight limitations.Your main bag can carry only 10kg.You pay for additional luggage but it is not recommended.After a long day of trekking your favourite snacks will boost your energy.You will be able to find snacks on the mountain but this will be expensive.

Pack a good first aid kit
These trekking days are too long unless you are in Namche Bazaar first aid medication and equipment will not be readily available.

- Allegra ( Allergy )
- Cough Syrup ( for cough )
- ORS sachets ( for dehydration)
- Dettol ( to clean the wound )
- Waterproof Bandaids ( to cover cuts )
- Neosporin powder – ( antibiotic powder to prevent infection of wound),Cotton – ( for cleaning),Crepe
- Diamox – ( to prevent symptoms of AMS. 125 mg to 500 mg a day 12. or 24 hourly until you return to a safe altitude)
- Dexamethasone – ( to prevent symptoms of HACE. 4 .to 8 mg depending on severity. Descend. Do not climb )

Add On Gokyo Lakes:
If you have some extra days then you can trek through Gokyo valley.Here you’ll experience traditional villages,Cho La pass and Kala Patthar.
Tip no 9
At The End Plan Extra Days:
If you want to spend some extra days in Nepal it’s best to plan them at the end of this trek not in the beginning.Sometimes stormy weather can delay the flights going out from Lukla which is a small airport.Delays with Lukla flights are common.These can happen any time of year especially in monsoon season.

Each DayTake Your Time And Respect The Local Culture:
Nobody will judge you on how quickly you get up the hill because it’s not a race.If you need an extra rest day then do it.Your guide will not mind if you hire them for extra days.Nobody will going to ask you how long does it took for the trek they are just going to be amazed to listen your experience.
While you are trekking then it’s mandatory to respect the local culture.You need to ask the local people before taking their photograph because many of them don’t want their photos taken.So you need to respect their wishes.
